MaNja!

Suddenly it occurred to me these last couple of weeks that Indonesian community is so spoiled! I'm saying that because the fact that a lot of people are so lazy, passive, unable to create ideas, blaming each other, etc are all the sign that they are spoiled. And this spoiled character does not belong exclusively to the upper class. This is a character of the nation with only some few exceptions.

Here are some examples:
1. People don't want to wait for bus in the bus stop because they don't want to walk a bit. The bus drivers are spoiling them by picking up people out of the bus stop. Knowing that the bus driver will stop the bus anywhere, these people feel that they are granted the right to stop any bus anywhere so they maintain this habit. The bus driver, looking to get more money the simply serve these customers. And we end up in the chaotic traffic due to uncivilized angkots and buses. Same as crossing the road on the wrong places and littering.

2. Even the middle and low class community feel that it is a disgrace or humiliation to do house works. They choose to work and play regardless of time and let the maid do the houseworks. The problem rise when with a lot of prices going up, they need to re-manage their family income and found out that they cannot afford a maid anymore! Ouch!

3. Parents think they must pass on a lot of fortune to their kids. They worked day and night, leaving no quality time for the children, then bribing them with a lot of things. The children then grew up as yuppies, leading a consumptive and hedonistic lives!

Well just three examples for now...a bit tired and gotta pack my bags for tomorrow's trip. So..I'll leave you for now..guess you know what I'm talking about anyways...
